As Fall arrives this week, I’m looking forward to having family over for a small gathering filled with fall-inspired cocktails. The cooler weather has me dreaming of warm and comforting drinks with Fall spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. I love this recipe for warm bourbon cider from Country Living Mag. For a fruity twist, here’s a recipe for an autumn fig sangria from Sugar & Cloth. For more casual family gatherings, a simple hot spiced wine is a must.
Although setting your drink menu is undoubtedly important, setting up your bar is the ultimate key to a successful cocktail party. Using a high-quality fabric as a backdrop adds a level of sophistication to your bar set-up. For this fall season, I’m using the Sister Parish Sintra New Linen fabric in Natural as a bar cover. This gorgeous Tree of Life motif is set on an exquisitely soft linen ground. The timeless print evokes hopeful thoughts of the eternal cycle of natural renewal as we brace ourselves for the cold seasons. It’s available in three colors: Baltic Blue, Fern with Paprika, and Natural.
After I’ve spread out my Sintra linen fabric, I collect my favorite bar tools and accents to rest on top. I’m using this weathered ceramic urn from Fox Fodder Farm as a vase filled with a wistful assortment of greenery. To hold my fall-inspired cocktail creations, I’m using green wine glasses from Tory Burch, and clear tumbler glasses from Land of Belle. To protect the beautiful Sintra linen, I’m using unique vintage serving trays (you can find similar ones on 1stdibs).
