The frieze of the table displays the talent of the carvers who created it. The corner blocks feature floral paterae on a textured ground.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eBelow the frieze is a repeating bead and reel moulding. In the larger frieze panels are floral sprays, tied together with ribbons and bows and the central tablet on the frieze features the mask of Mercury or Hermes, messenger of the gods, with his winged head.
