The piece is veneered in walnut of fine colour and is inlaid throughout with floral marquetry of sophisticated form. Dutch furniture of this period is renowned for the quality of its marquetry but this piece also incorporates some fine carved detailing in the form of a rocaille ornament on the apron and the beautiful hairy claw front feet.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe interior of the bureau section is a tour de force, incorporating straight and shaped drawers, hidden compartments and fitted inkwell compartments.
