Using Floral Prints and Patterns in a Bedroom-- How to Layer Pattern on Pattern

How To Use Floral Prints and Patterns in a Bedroom--Layering Pattern on Pattern

My favorite room as a little girl was adorned with florals and overlapping patterns. The room, at our house in Maine was decorated by my grandmother, Sister, and has a chintz on the canopy beds, one wall covered in a floral and striped wallpaper, curtains in another floral chintz, and flower paintings on the walls. A bathroom with stenciled flowers  on the wall adjoins it. The canopy beds felt like little houses and the beautiful chintzes made me feel like a princess. There was also a skirted dressing table with a mirror and a set of ivory brushes and combs with Sisters' initials on them placed in front of the mirror on an antique tray. Each detail was carefully considered, and made for a little girl's heaven. Timeless, tried and true wallpapers that are fresh and whimsical enough for a guest room or for a little girls room will always be a game changer and well worth it if you want your guests or child to feel cosseted , comfortable and yes spoiled ! Along with mixing floral patterns , we recommend another equally effective approach, using the same pattern on the walls and furniture.

Dolly, as shown on the walls and curtains in the left photo, does this better than any print we have. Our star print, Serendipity, as seen on the wall and curtain on the right, is also a standout here.

Just as effective is using coordinates from the hero print. Dolly Flower and Dolly Stripe were designed to layer and this makes the scheme even easier to execute

Our bold Sintra print layers beautifully, as shown on the curtains and walls in the red bedroom. Rees, in the green bedroom, can also be used to replicate the print on the bed and curtains. All of this floral pattern play creates a unique, personal, and happy room in your house.

Happy decorating!
