Behind The Seams | January 2025

January is a month for digging in and taking time to prepare and look ahead to what we have planned for a brand new year! We kicked it off with an all team meeting in Litchfield, which has set us up for even better customer service and launching a lot of incredible product, my favorite! It even snowed in Litchfield cementing our Currier and Ives vibe as we talked about what our customers want.

The Winter Show designer luncheon is always a favorite time for me to catch up with friends and see the incredible dealers. I took little to no pictures, which is always a sign of a good time. The only two videos I did take were of the dealer, Cove Landing, out of NYC - huge fan. The Winter Show, held at the Park Avenue Armory, is considered America’s premiere art, antiques, and design fair, and features many of the world’s top experts in the fine and decorative arts and trust me, it never disappoints. Sister was a fixture at the show opening night and always did some major shopping with her clients, so I channeled her spirit all day.

As I dig into new prints and colorways, I look back to our heritage, but also forward to what our clients want. The floral guest room in my grandmother's Maine house inspired the new colors for our newest launches - Verbena wallpaper and the Dolly coordinates. I imagine the next generation of little girls loving the floral prints that envelop them and it brings me so much happiness!

I capped the month off with a few packed days in Palm Beach with our head of sales Jackson McCard for Design Days. I caught up with Flora Soames, did some scheming with Louise Roe of Sharland England, got a sneak peek of a CeCe Bowman project and absorbed all of the colors, textures, and special light that only Florida brings. Right before the trip, our friend and talented photographer, Nick Mele, launched a furniture collection with Society Social featuring our Campobello performance fabric. The Gambit Gaming Chair is incredibly chic and such a great use of our product.

I felt happy and inspired when I headed back to CT for ski school Saturdays and sledding outings in New England with my kids. Contrast really is the spice of life!

That being said, I'll be ready for warmer temps again when I head back to PB in March. For now, enjoy some of my favorite spots from my latest trip.

*The Blue Door for dinner (order the Branzino, Tomato Salad, and Meditteranean dip - divine!)

*Tuke Bazaar for your shopping fix, cool clothes and accessories (pictured below with founder and friend, Elizabeth!)

*And, HIVE, our showroom in PB just opened a fabulous bedding and bath store - highly recommend!

Cheers Eliza
