Our Conversation with McGrath II - Sister Parish

Mother-daughter team Suzanne and Lauren McGrath characterize their work as designing homes that are rich in classic interior details that reference the past while embracing the lifestyles of today.

Suzanne came to the business with a rich background having worked for prestigious design firms such as Cullman and Kravis as well as being a producer for Martha Stewart living for 15 years. Lauren came from the publishing world of Conde Naste, but also grew up watching her mother work. Working together came about very organically in 2010 and together they create stylish and imaginative interiors for their lucky clients . McGrath II’s work has appeared in Architectural Digest, The New York Times, House Beautiful, among others .

Ying and yang , Suzanne and Lauren's approach is truly collaborative. Lauren admires her moms calm under fire, and Suzanne admires Laurens attention to detail . Discussing all things design from their love of wallpaper to obsessing over obscure design treatises, it was a true pleasure to engage this talented team in a lively conversation about their work and design inspiration.
