Late 19th Century French Bronze and Mirrored Surtout de Table
A finely cast late 19th Century French surtout de table.
Formed as an elongated oval plateau with three original mirrored glass panels within a pierced ormolu gallery. The gallery is crisply detailed in the Louis XVI taste with repeating arcaded piercing, beaded mouldings and finely modelled mounts, raised on small feet.
Retaining a pleasing aged surface and original glass with gentle foxing and wear, the mirrored base catches and reflects candlelight beautifully, making it an elegant centrepiece for a dining table, console or sideboard.
