Late 19th Century Italian Tole, Glass and Rock Crystal Chandelier
A charming late 19th Century Italian gilt-metal and cut-glass bag chandelier, circa 1890–1900.
In the Louis XVI / Neoclassical taste.
The circular corona, enriched with foliate arms and rosette details, is beautifully dressed with swags of drops combining rock crystal (quartz) pendants with cut-glass droplets, forming a sparkling basket that tapers to a slender icicle finial below.
Elegant and light in feel despite the generous drop, it works particularly well in a hall, stairwell, landing or dressing room, where the mixed crystal dressing gives superb sparkle and texture at close range.
